CLEAR LAKE, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has a reminder for hunters this season. That's because the majority of tree stand accidents occur when a hunter is climbing in or out of their stand.
Recreation Safety Officer for the Iowa DNR Jeff Barnes told KXCV/KRNW that hunters should remember the ABC's.
Barnes also says to check your equipment for damage, maintain balance, wear a full body harness and to have a haul line for carrying equipment.
